The Breadboard Synth is a collaboration between Helen Leigh and Phoenix Perry. It is a DIY simple analogue synthesiser kit that teaches the beautiful physics behind music. Students make a simple electronic synth based on a Schmitt Trigger and learn about wave forms, frequencies, resonance, oscillation, electronics and the science of music theory.
The Breadboard Synth has been taught at schools and festivals across Europe, and was made live on air for the BBC Click Christmas Special in 2017.
If you want to host a workshop or find out how to teach the Science of Music at your event or in your classroom, please get in touch to see how we can work together.
