This post isn’t strictly related to Do It Kits but we wanted to share anyway. Because it’s cool. Helen from Do It Kits recently went to an analogue synth workshop run by Pheonix Perry. In the workshop, we learned about some of the techniques video game pioneers used to create sound by building our own 8-bit analogue synths. We experimented with resistors, capacitors and a Schmitt trigger to make a load of weird noises. Here’s the basic set up… head to Helen’s Twitter post to see what it sounded like!

Do It Kits are currently on the Maker in Residence programme at Machines Room, a maker space on London’s Maker Mile. We’ve been having great fun trying out new designs, production techniques and swapping ideas with other awesome people, including the teams behind The Crafty Robot, Hack on Wheels and the fully awesome Pheonix Perry.

Recently, Do It Kits kitted out the classroom at Machines Room and had fun doing our first photoshoot for our very first finished product this week. You can check out some of our finished photos on the Time to React product pages, but here’s a peek behind the scenes.
